Our Mission
Afghan Women’s Rights Watch (AWRW) is committed, as an independent, professional, and responsible organization, to continuously monitor, assess, and document the human rights situation of Afghan women and girls, and to stand against all forms of discrimination, deprivation, and violations of their fundamental rights.
Our mission is based on the principle that no society can achieve social justice, lasting peace, or genuine development without ensuring the rights of women. For this reason, we strive to bring the realities of Afghan women’s lives to national and international attention through the collection of reliable information, the production of evidence-based reports, the publication of expert analysis, and public awareness initiatives.
We also seek to strengthen the voices of Afghan women and promote accountability for human rights violations through advocacy and cooperation with human rights organizations, media, civil society, and international institutions.
Our key objectives include:
- Monitoring and evaluating the rights situation of women and girls in Afghanistan
- Recording and documenting human rights violations and imposed restrictions
- Producing research reports, articles, and professional analysis
- Raising public awareness through media and social networks
- Supporting women’s rights to education, work, freedom, and social participation
- Cooperating with national and international institutions to promote justice and equality
- Empowering volunteer networks and women’s rights defenders
Our Vision
Our vision is an Afghanistan where women and girls can live free from fear, discrimination, and deprivation; where they enjoy the rights to education, employment, freedom of expression, social participation, and access to justice.
We envision a future in which women’s rights are recognized as an inseparable part of human rights; where no girl is denied education, no woman is oppressed because of her gender, and human dignity is protected for all citizens.
Afghan Women’s Rights Watch aspires, through sustained efforts, broad partnerships, and shared commitment, to become a trusted center for advocacy, research, monitoring, and awareness on Afghan women’s rights at both regional and global levels.
Our Belief
We believe change is possible when truth is documented, voices are heard, and justice becomes a shared demand.
